How can I download
the large files quickly and without trouble?
Internet browsers were made to do just what the name implies - browse. When you ask your browser to download a file, you are asking it to do something it is not really very good at. You need a download utility if you plan to download large files. Download the "GetRight" software from
www.getright.com . It can help you download large files without problems, and adds neat features like "resume/continue." After GetRight is installed on your computer, when you click to down load a file in your
browser (NetScape 4.5 or Microsoft I.E. 5.0), the GetRight will take over. Should you get disconnected in the middle of a download, just download again, GetRight will resume/continue where it left off.
If you find that it stops to download for a log time, or, it download suddenly very fast in the middle, it means the download is getting problem.
Download quickly: You may want to try modem calling at a less busy time. Speaking of less busy, we've found that the servers are least busy early in the morning. That could be a great time to try downloading again.
If the download is working but too slow, please consider to ask your friend who has the ADSL or cable modem to download the files for you.

If you get Error 2 or the message "file
was truncated or damaged" when you "Unzip" the
WinDaisy setup file, please compare the file sizes (the file sizes
listed in the website and the file sizes that you have
downloaded/saved in the temporary folder).
Please "UnZip" each file after you make sure the file size
is correct. If you download the separate 9 programs, make sure that
you unzip them one by one sequentially. The 9th file must be the last
program to be unzipped.

"...some files are missing ..., continue or not?", please answer "Yes"
"...abort the setup..., abort or not?", please answer "No".
Some users would install the WinDaisy twice. Under this case some files already
existed in the computer; so the 2nd installation will enable this kind of warning.
It will say "...some files are missing ...Continue or not", please answer "Yes".
It will also say "...abort the setup...Abort or not", please answer "No".
This is the way to enforce the continuation of installation. You will get success.

How to use the
Stitch Processor?
1. After you run the stitch processor (WinDaisy ->
"On-screen Digitizing and Editing"
-> "Open Design"
-> "Special" -> "Stitch Processor") on the sth file (the external designs
imported from
machine diskette which is not yet a condensed (.cnd) file), the Windaisy
system will generate this cnd file based on the quality of the original sth file.
2. Quality: The more density in the individual stitch elements, the better the quality of the new
sth/cnd files produced.
3. What the processor changes and how to fine-tune the new design file:
3.1 If the original design was digitized using 3 different densities in different areas, the new
sth/cnd file could involve 7 (or more)
densities in different areas after it's preliminary auto
analysis. To fix or "fine-tune" the design further : Please click the
"change densities" (an icon
along the top of the screen), then select "one by one". Change the inappropriate density
values to more reasonable
density values. It will redo the whole design element as you
instruct.
3.2 There may be the gaps within the satin stitches and fill stitch areas if the density in these
areas in the original design were too low. To fix this problem : Please click the "Display"
menu, then click "Condense" to display the condensed points in the design. Click
"Move point" (another icon along the top of screen, far left). Choose an appropriate
condensed point near the gap, move it closer to the next point. Manipulate condensed
points in this fashion until there are no gaps.
3.3 Some loose satin stitches may be recognized as simple running stitches. There is no
good solution to correct this so far, because the loose stitches look like the running
stitches to the stitch processor. In any case, this should not effect the quality of your
design.
After you do the "Fix-up/Fine-Tune" procedures listed above, you will get a rather good .sth
(expanded) design file accompanied by it's .cnd (condensed) file. From there you can change
the size or densities on the new sth/cnd design, just as if it were originally digitized with
WinDaisy.
