1. About the Download and installation:

1.1 How can I download the large files quickly and without trouble?

Internet browsers were made to do just what the name implies - browse. When you ask your browser to download a file, you are asking it to do something it is not really very good at. You need a download utility if you plan to download large files. Download the "GetRight" software from www.getright.com . It can help you download large files without problems, and adds neat features like "resume/continue." After GetRight is installed on your computer, when you click to down load a file in your browser (NetScape 4.5 or Microsoft I.E. 5.0), the GetRight will take over. Should you get disconnected in the middle of a download, just download again, GetRight will resume/continue where it left off.

If you find that it stops to download for a log time, or, it download suddenly very fast in the middle, it means the download is getting problem.

Download quickly: You may want to try modem calling at a less busy time. Speaking of less busy, we've found that the servers are least busy early in the morning. That could be a great time to try downloading again.

If the download is working but too slow, please consider to ask your friend who has the ADSL or cable modem to download the files for you.

1.2 How can I install the WinDaisy software without trouble?

Please close all the resident or hidden software including anti-virus software. These software runs in the background would hold up some software which can not be shared by other software. When WinDaisy need it for installing, but is prohibited to use it, then it will get the error during installation.

1.3 Error 2 or "file was truncated or damaged"?

If you get Error 2 or the message "file was truncated or damaged" when you "Unzip" the WinDaisy setup file, please compare the file sizes (the file sizes listed in the website and the file sizes that you have downloaded/saved in the temporary folder).

Please "UnZip" each file after you make sure the file size is correct. If you download the separate 9 programs, make sure that you unzip them one by one sequentially. The 9th file must be the last program to be unzipped.

1.4 Sharing violation

Pease close anti-virus and all hidden software working in the background of your computer.

The hidden software use some software utilities and would also lock up them. Closing the hidden software will eliminate the Sharing Violation problem.

1.5 Gray (White) screen occurs by the end of installation:

The question in detail would be:

The installation seems perfect. However by the end of installation the whole screen becomes gray (white). Then I have to press the Ctl_Alt_Esc. How can I fix this problem?

Yes, some users can install WinDaisy well. Some others reported us this problem. We are now studying this problem. Anyway the method listed below can solve this problem:

1. By the end of installation when the gray (white) color occupy the full screen, it is the gray
screen covers above the running task, please move your mouse down to the bottom, you will
find the real task is there, please click to end it normally. Then your WinDaisy can be
    completely installed and run well.

2. During installation when the gray (white) occupy the whole screen, if you have pressed the
Ctl_Alt_Esc to exit the installation, when you start to run the software WinDaisy, it would get a
    flash then the software disappears.

Please download/unzip the "EngShare-Update.exe" software at:

www.WinDaisy.com/updates.htm .
    Then your WinDaisy can work.

1.6 WinDaisy gets a flash then disappears.

Please refer to the item 2 of 1.5 listed above.
Please download/unzip the "EngShare-Update.exe" software at:
www.WinDaisy.com/updates.htm
Then your WinDaisy can work.

1.7 Error 380.

If you use a non-English Windows version, do the following:
Click on the "Start" button.
Click on "settings"
Choose "Control Panel"
Choose the "Regional settings"
Change to "English (U.S.)"
Therefore the WinDaisy can work. This process only changes the scientific expression method used by your computer. It will still operate in your original Window"s language.

The is the old problem. WinDaisy now has been revised this problem, this kind of message would be no more occur again.

1.8 Error 3445: Riched32.dll (or Msjet35.dll, Vbajet32.dll) access error or incorrect version

Access error:
Some hidden software is also using the one of the software belonging to the Windows System,
for example Riched32.dll. When you install WinDaisy, please close all the hidden software
especially the anti-virus, then it will not lock up the software, and, you will not get the error such as
"Riched32.dll access error".

Incorrect version:
1. Please copy the file, for example Msjet35.dll, from another computer, or
2. Download the new version of Msjet35.dll from Microsoft web site into c:\Windows\system, or
3. Click
Riched32.dll or Msjet35.dll or Vbajet32.dll to download from our web site, then save it
    in c:\Windows\system.
3.1 Please rename your original file in c:\Windows\system to another name in advance or
keep that original file in some place.
    3.2 Download the file(
Riched32.dll, Msjet35.dll or Vbajet32.dll), save it in c:\Windows\system,
restart your computer, install WinDaisy again, then the installation can work.

Please consider
ordering the CD-ROM (includes WinDaisy shareware version and complete user's manual) if the download or installation problems persist.

1.9 "...some files are missing ..., continue or not?", please answer "Yes"
"...abort the setup..., abort or not?", please answer "No".

Some users would install the WinDaisy twice. Under this case some files already existed in the computer; so the 2nd installation will enable this kind of warning.
It will say "...some files are missing ...Continue or not", please answer "Yes".
It will also say "...abort the setup...Abort or not", please answer "No".
This is the way to enforce the continuation of installation. You will get success.

1.10 How do I renew my WinDaisy system?

1. If you already have the shareware in your hard disk, you can click the button "Update". Do
"A. Update the WinDaisy Shareware Version".

2. If you download the complete files to reinstall the WinDaisy again, you can "update the software
only without erasing the data (digitized designs) saved in hard disk".

If it displays "...some files are missing ..., continue or not?", please answer "Yes".
If it displays "...abort the setup..., abort or not?", please answer "No".
You have to enforce the continuation of installation.

3. Change the Shareware version to Professional version:
Please click the button "Update" in
www.WinDaisy.com. Then do "B. Update the WinDaisy
    Professional Version".

Choose "Settings"
Click on "Control Panel"
Choose "Display"
Click on the "Settings" tab.
Set your screen area to 800 x 600 pixels (1024 x 768 is an acceptable alternative)
Next, click on the "Advanced" button
Under the "General" tab, select "Large Fonts" from the display list.

After you finish the settings, the text will be larger in size displaying on screen and the small pictures of Design Manager displaying on screen will occupy the full screen.

Note: It is acceptable to continue using "Small fonts" without changing any settings in Windows. Under this case the small pictures of Design Manager displaying on screen will not occupy the full screen.

5. See the Real Sample:
5.1 I want to see how the WinDaisy works. Can you digitize the design for me?

Please click
here to see our digitizing service.

5.2 How to use the Stitch Processor?

1. After you run the stitch processor (WinDaisy -> "On-screen Digitizing and Editing"
-> "Open Design"  -> "Special" -> "Stitch Processor") on the sth file (the external designs
imported from machine diskette which is not yet a condensed (.cnd) file), the Windaisy
system will generate this cnd file based on the quality of the original sth file.
2. Quality: The more density in the individual stitch elements, the better the quality of the new
    sth/cnd files produced.
3. What the processor changes and how to fine-tune the new design file:
3.1 If the original design was digitized using 3 different densities in different areas, the new
sth/cnd file could involve 7 (or more) densities in different areas after it's preliminary auto
analysis. To fix or "fine-tune" the design further : Please click the "change densities" (an icon
along the top of the screen), then select "one by one". Change the inappropriate density
values to more reasonable density values. It will redo the whole design element as you
         instruct.
3.2 There may be the gaps within the satin stitches and fill stitch areas if the density in these
areas in the original design were too low. To fix this problem : Please click the "Display"
menu, then click "Condense" to display the condensed points in the design. Click
"Move point" (another icon along the top of screen, far left). Choose an appropriate
condensed point near the gap, move it closer to the next point. Manipulate condensed
points in this fashion until there are no gaps.
3.3 Some loose satin stitches may be recognized as simple running stitches. There is no
good solution to correct this so far, because the loose stitches look like the running
stitches to the stitch processor. In any case, this should not effect the quality of your
         design.
After you do the "Fix-up/Fine-Tune" procedures listed above, you will get a rather good .sth
(expanded) design file accompanied by it's .cnd (condensed) file. From there you can change
the size or densities on the new sth/cnd design, just as if it were originally digitized with
         WinDaisy.
