3. Importing a graphic or picture into WinDaisy:
In Corel, PhotoShop or other graphic software, please save your design in the
C:\WinDaisy\ImageFile folder. Save the design in
.JPG format. You will see the
design when you do on-screen digitizing. If the design is not in .JPG format, you will
need to use a graphic software to convert it to JPG format before you can use it. When
looking for graphic images to digitize, WinDaisy will first open the folder C:\WinDaisy\ImageFile. You
still can specify the another folder (path) where your graphic picture is located if
needed.
4. Starting
an on-screen digitizing session:
Start the WinDaisy program, and choose "On-screen Digitizing." From the
"File" menu, choose "New Design." Give the design an name when
prompted, then choose "OK." Select a graphic design you wish to digitize, such
as "Super.jpg" and click on "OK." If everything about the
graphic design is ready for you to work with, click "Yes," then "OK"
(no rotation.) Click the left margin of the design and then Click right margin of the
design to set the digitizing area. Click "OK."
You are now in the Running stitch mode; ready
to digitize or select other functions.
5. Starting a tablet-digitizing session:
Start the WinDaisy program, and from the "File" menu, choose "New
Design." When prompted, enter a name for the design you are about to begin, and
select "Tablet Digitizing." Select "Keyboard" and enter any needed
options. Click "OK" to begin working.
6. How
to digitize Complex Fill Stitches:
Example:
- Select the "complex fill"
icon. From the pop-up menu, choose "general type."
- Use the left mouse button to create points
outlining the area. (The position of last point can not overlap the position of 1st point)
- Click the right mouse button to end the area
selection.
- Select the "slop/end" icon.
- Use the mouse left-button to click 3 points:
two points to indicate the slope and the last point for the exit position
Try this example to create a simple complex
fill, you'll quickly get the hang of it for creating more complex patterns.
7. Exiting
a digitizing/editing session:
From the digitizing/editing screen, select "Design(File)" and choose "Save
in Design Library" A dialog box will appear where you can select saving options, such
as Output to diskette, printer or tape now. Click on "No" if you don't want to
save the design externally, or you can select "Yes" to create an output format
of some type. Then choose "Exit". This is only a simple example. You can try the
other options.
8. Switch among
the sub-systems in software:
When WinDaisy starts up, you can choose to enter into any sub-system by choosing one of
the eight systems in the component box. When you are using a sub-system, pull down
the "Others" menu to switch to "Digitizing/Editing",
"Input/Output", "Monogramming", "Design Manager" or
"Setup Software/Hardware"
9. Importing a
.DST (Tajima) diskette:
Start the WinDaisy software and choose the "Input/Output" box on the top-left
side of the screen. This displays the screen for the "Input/Output" module.
Click "Input", to see a list of available embroidery diskette formats. Select
"Tajima disk" (you can accept both *.DST or *.DSB), click
"Input", your monitor displays the embroidery design on screen. The design is
automatically saved in the Temporary Area. If you want the design to be placed in the
Design Library (Taking advantage of the data base), then select "Design" and
click "Register into Library."
10. Saving an external design into the database library:
Refer to "Importing a .DST (Tajima) diskette above
to bring the design into the system, then select the "File" menu and click
"Register into Library"
11. Export the embroidery design to a .DST(Tajima) diskette:
This works the same as the "Import" command on the "Input/Output"
screen. Open a design from the "Temporary Area" or from the "Design
Library":
- From the "Temporary Area," Select a
design name and choose "OK", Click "Output", the program lists
different embroidery diskette formats. Choose *.DST Tajima disk.
- From the "Design Library", click on
a design with the RIGHT mouse button, a pop-up menu will display. Click on
"Output", return to the "Input/Output" screen and Click "Output".
The menu displays different embroidery diskette formats, choose *.DST Tajima diskette.
12. Converting expanded format to condensed format:
Refer to "7. Importing a .DST (Tajima)
diskette" above to bring the design
into the system, select "Others", Select "Send to digitize/Edit". Now you are in the digitizing/editing module.
From the "Special" menu, choose " Stitch Process". The Stitch
Processor converts your "Expanded" file into a "Condensed" file. With
a condensed file, you can change the size or stitch count of the design. Of course, you
also can digitize or edit that design as you wish, just as if the design had been created
in your WinDaisy system.
Then you can refer to "9. Export the embroidery design to a .DST(Tajima)
diskette" for output.
